France Internship

with French designer Coppélia Pique

In 2014 after Brendan completed his Arts of Fashion Masterclass in Paris, he had the great opportunity to intern for artistic French couture and ready-to-wear label Coppélia Pique.

Brendan worked very closely with designer Axelle, researching and developing ideas and concepts for her 2014/15 collection Saint-Phalle. Brendan's key role was to create and construct, sew the prototype samples, create and check style design lines of the silhouettes, source materials and fabrics and while also assist at photoshoots.

Brendan had the opportunity to focus on one of the final silhouettes of the collection which was showcased at Paris Fashion Week in 2015, pictured below.

In Brendan's words

"It was a great experience. I admired Axelle's creative design approach and the way of using raw abstract materials which made me feel as much of an artist as a fashion designer. I wish I could have stayed in Paris and helped complete the finished garments from their concept and prototype beginnings. But to see the final completed garments that where shown at Paris Fashion Week was truly rewarding."
